1V TechLab
The 1ViLLAGE TechLab provides for continuous testing and training on new technologies to enrich and discover knowledge. The lab assists in the adoption of appropriate technologies and training of System Administrators in support of technological rural development or response efforts.
The 1ViLLAGE TechLab provides the platform and avenue to test and build capacities of technical staff of NGOs, corporate institutions, government departments, interns, volunteers in Mobile/SMS Technologies for Development, Open Source Technology Applications; In Door & Out-Door/Long Range Wireless Networks; Mesh Networking Technologies; Desktop Virtualization Systems; Thin Client Computing; and Voice Over IP Systems.
The 1ViLLAGE Certified Technologist (Technical Capacity Building Program), program trains and certifies technologists and or system administrators that provide real-time technical support during and after installations - especially in rural settings. The training is organised twice a year with content that include the design, installation and management of:
1.Open Source and Special proprietary platforms
2.Wireless and Cable Network setups including mesh networks
3.Power Solutions: Battery Back Ups and Solar Systems
4.Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
5.Desktop Virtualization.
Special training packages are offered on request to organisations and individuals as well.
