1ViLLAGE is committed to educating individuals, organizations and governments about appropriate technologies for rural Africa.Through our ICT research and deployments projects in under-served communities, 1ViLLAGE has gained a wealth of knowledge about which technologies are suitable for the developing country context. We have become experts in implementing community wireless networks, setting up affordable, energy-efficient multi-user computer systems, and running Open Source platforms in order to bridge the digital divide. We are now sharing our experiences through presentations in conferences, contributing to ICT mailing lists and online platforms, and consulting on projects with NGOs, governments, and research institutions.

We have participated in global ICT4D events in Brussels, Belgium; Malaga, Spain; Taipei, Taiwan; Pretoria, South Africa, Dharamsala, India, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Alexandria, Egypt; London, UK; Nairobi, Kenya; Abuja, Nigeria and locally in Accra, Ghana.
